I have a question: Would not the OS and RAID controller (and mainly the controller) be responsible for mirroring the writes? I don't think there should be any changes neccessary to the program to work with RAID. Am I wrong?

Is it fair to say that one of the basic limitations of foxpro and cached processing is that foxpro issues large packets and does not multi-thread so therefore a single misdirected packet will result in poor performance and file read errors? (I know that's very simplistic, I'm trying not to be verbose...and failing miserably)

Yup..that's hardware. There is probably a utility program that came with your RAID controller that will allow you to set the percentage of read vs write cache. It should be 100% read and 0% write.
