Tom,
When I Right Click on the DataGrid one of the options I get is "Properties"
That takes me to the Properties window... is that what you're referring to?
In the properties window, I don't see any way to tell it how many columns, what fields they correspond to, how wide each column should default to, or any formatting information, or what controls are in the columns...
Basically, all I'm seeing is an empty box.

Most of my experience so far is with Visual FoxPro.
In Visual FoxPro, during design time, when I place the DataGrid on the form, in the properties window, I can tell it how many columns, what fields they correspond to, how wide each column should default to, any formatting information, or what controls are in the columns...

Am I missing something or is the VB.Net DataGrid that different from the Visual FoxPro DataGrid (which is what I'm used to)? In VB.Net, do I have to do all these things in Code? Isn't there a more ---Visual--- way of doing this?

I don't want this thread to go down the path of
This.Language vs. That.Language

I just want to know if I'm doing it right. (if not, please point me in the right direction)

I'm trying to make and example program, so I can carry these lessons over to my real application. So far this DataGrid thing is a bit confussing and I suspect it's me, not VB.Net

Thanks,
Rick
