>Remote views are anything but transparent. Most developers who have developed successful C/S apps in VFP have found remote views to be awful. Rather, SPT (SQL PassThrough) has proven to be much more reliable.
I'm glad to read this because I have had problems with remote views (can't sort by a varchar field for example) and find myself using SQL pass-through whenever possible. However, I have been unable to create a parameterized, updateable cursor using SPT. Do you know if this can be done? I can make them either parameterized or updateable but not both. I want to be able to change the parameter and do a requery() to bring in a new result set. Looks like this would be possible without having to rebuild the cursor each time.
>Does VFP? Even the Access upsizing wizard is full of bugs. The upsizing wizard in VFP has several with bugs.
I tried the upsizing wizard and quickly decided to do all the SQL setup by hand. It wasn't that difficult.
