Should be simple enough - the top coordinate of the rectangle is either one of the end points, or the top of the arc (at 90 degree angle, counting from x axis). You only need to know the angles - whether the 90 degree is between them or not.
Same goes for the other three sides.

I agree it's very simple in principle - sketch an example on a scrap of paper and you can easily work out the correct values. I'm just finding it difficult to come up with an (elegant) algorithm to get the program to do the same thing...
