>In their infinite but dubious wisdom, Microsoft never created a cert exam for VFP 5.0. The one that's available goes up to 3.0. IMHO, you might want to wait until Tahoe hits the streets and see if Microsoft does a VFP6 exam.

By the time MS gets around to a VFP6 test, if they do, it'll be early '99 -- seeing their track record on exam currency.

>If I recall correctly, the actual test spends a lot of time testing your OLE and ODBC skills. At least it seemed that way to me. The test took a lot less time than I expected. Since it only goes up to 3.0, you'll have to "unlearn" a couple of things, or if you're like me and started off on 5.0, have to learn the old style in the first place.

The test is different for every person taking it....make sure you know a little about a lot as opposed to a lot about a little.

>As far as the advantages in the corporate world, I think it's worth the time and money to get the Microsoft Certified Professional title. It gives you a little more respect, and it brings you one step closer to becoming a Certified Developer, where the big money lies (or so I've been told).

Absolutely I concur. Although, I'll tell you, those new WinArch tests are major hurdles to overcome.... (having failed WinArch I twice already)
