You are an interesting piece of work. In another response by you to my message - you write:

For the record, I never promoted ADO over something as generic as "VFP's native C/S access". I did and do promote ADO over RV's. I have also promoted SPT over RV's. And, I have promoted the use of ADO + SPT. The common thread is that I have advocated against the use of RV's - for reasons which are well stated. Can RV's work? Sure - but it comes at the cost of less flexibility with more effort. My views are well documented on the topic - so I don't need to repeat them now.

I think it is you that avoids the point....
