We've had good luck recently using GFI Faxmaker for auto-faxing. We don't fax right away when a report is created; we write the reports out to pdf files and then initiate the auto-faxing after all reports have been created (they go to multiple numbers depending on client) by creating text trigger files that Faxmaker is set up to continuously scan for.

According to the post I read versions 10.02 and 10.03 of WinFax do not include the SDK do to problems with WinXP and the whole WinFax product MAY be discontinued. I don't know if this is true, but if it is, I hate to build a solution relying on a product that may no longer be supported.
