He is able to remote desktop into the host machine, but on attempting to connect to the db, he gets 'unable to initilaise connection... fdues.udf may be invalid', however fdues.df is not only valid, it is used by everyone else, from all other machines. Using his login from another machine, I can connect, so it does not seem to be a rights issue, and connecting as myself from his machine fails with the same error, so I strongly suspect the laptop is the source of the error. The database is resident on the same machine that he is remote desktopping to.

Start with the basics. Can you ping the host machine? Can you attach to a share on the host machine? What error are you getting?

>>I have a client that connects to a MSSQL db via remote desktop. A couple of days ago, he was unable to connect to the database. Even I could not connect from his laptop (via Remote desktop) but could from any other work station/laptop, and could get connected as him from other workstations. I know it has to be related to the the laptop, but d*mned if I can figure it out. Any help or sugesstions would be welcome.
