>>Is this with a USB connection? I had the same problem with a Palm device, it was the USB ports had bit the dust on the motherboard.
>>Oh, and BTW, everything said the ports were OK on the motherboard, I couldn't confirm it to be a problem until I couldn't get a USB mouse to work either.

>yeah, it is a USB connection, but I don't think the problem is there, for two reasons:

>1. I've been using other different devices in those ports (cd-burners, dvd-burners, mouses, etc.), and they work just fine.

>2. Last week I've installed some software on my computer that ended up installing that "Palm Desktop" thing. When I tried to hotsync my palm, it was taking the data from the "palm desktop" software just fine. But what I want is to sync with MS-Outlook. Then I reinstalled the software again and chose that option, and now the hotsync doesn't work.

>could it be that I'm using MS-Office 2003 and the software for the Palm is just too old to handle that? I tried to find updates on the web, but I just didn't find a thing.

Could be it's too old, but I don't know. I haven't even used my Palm thingie in over 6 months. I had to move mine onto another machine with working USB ports, but that doesn't sound like your problem since other devices work.
