I'll be darned<g>. I have been testing with DO Main. I compiled, and my messagebox reported just as you and George have been telling me it would.
Go figure - I owe you guys a beer!
Let me review a little:
1)SYS(2019) only seems to report if EXE is running, and not a DO (fxp/prg).
1)TMPFILES in CONFIG.FPW sets the "work" folder only when EXE is opened, and not an IDE file. DOing a PRG ignores CONFIG.FPW's TMPFILES setting and uses a "hidden" folder that I
just noticed is assigned (Tools->Options->Tab:Filelocations->Column:FileType->ListItem:
Temporary Files).
My assumption is that config.sys only kinks when EXE is run. This assumption seems true - gives the results I want - but I have no idea what is really happening.
Thanks so much, Sergey!

Special Terms for Configuration Files in help for the list of such items. The SYS(2023) function returns the temporary directory.
