Not weird at all. Cofig.fpw is aread from the home() directory, which is the local directory for your exe. Your VFP's home directory, well, that's a

?home()

So if it can't find your config.fpw there... you may try to launch VFP by double-clicking a table or a class or something in this directory, then it should be the home(), but I'm not sure.
