There was a report out a few years back about carcinogens in beer and wine.

Heineken was number one in carcinogens, followed by English brews. It seems that during the brewing process the ingredients are boiled and rise to the top of the container. United States beer fell a bit below but still contained carcinogens, as it typically is full of chemicals.

German beer (beir) has zero carcinogens. The reason is in the German Purity Law. It uses a cold process. Guinness Stout has zero carcinogens and was developed by a German Brew Master, about 200 years ago, for the Guinness Company.

Personally, I drink for taste and never to get drunk. My brother, when younger, had a different approach. He would call me Saturday, and tell me he drank so much the night before he could not remember driving 40 or 50 miles to get home. He felt so bad he said he would never drink again! Then he would call me the next Saturday and repeat the same story. This went on for years. He is older now and does not do such things. Slowly, we sometimes learn. :)

>Yes, probably. I am not taking any side, just told the version I heard. But no matter what, Bud is my favourite US beer.

>>>Actually the only US beer I think tasts good, is not even US originally, but a rip-off from Czech, namely Budweiser. But I guess you did not learn that in school?
>>>
>>>Budweiser was 'invented' in the Czech town Budejovice (from which the name Budweiser is derived), and after some years a brewery in St.Louise started to brew it on license. But after a while they did not want to pay royalty anymore, and since US lawyers were more clever than the Czech lawyers, they ended up owning the brand name.
