You have received some good advice as well as a lot of humour. I think it would help if you were more specific as to how your app is written. Does it use tables, local views, remote views, etc? What type of hardware is it running on? What does the network consist of? Does the .exe reside on the client or the server? Where does the data reside? Do any of your forms have multiple comboboxes that are used for popup choices? In addition to your other recommendations, you may consider loading your really time intensive forms when the app loads and hiding them. Then when the user selects to instantiate that form, just make it visible and active and hide it again when the user closes the form instead of actually closing it. You will have to change your code everywhere though to determine if the form is already open or not and take the appropriate action and close all open forms when the app closes.
