I'm having trouble with both the Task Manager and the Tools Options area in Visual Foxpro 8.0 When I start Visual FoxPro and try to close the Task Manager, I get an error that says "Cannot update the cursor FOXRESOURCE, since it is read only".

In addition, when I go into the Tools Options area, my SET AS DEFAULT button is disabled and any changes I attempt to make in any tab are not saved the next time I come into Fox.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I have uninstalled VFP, removed the installation folders, removed the Registry entries that contain VFP 8.0 Options, and I still get the same thing.

I believe this started after testing a product called System Mechanic 4. This product is used to clean up registry entries, temp files among other things. I'm guessing that this product caused the problem as I have been using VFP 8.0 for over 6 months without any trouble whatsoever.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this?
