I'm writing an application that several hundred officers will use to apprehend fugitives in the Memphis Metro area. It's a VFP 8 hybrid application. It uses local tables, some updated via ftp, others created on the fly and it also sends web requests via http talking to a 2003 server with iis and Web Connection. Some of the stuff on the backend pulls data in real time from our mainframe, some from our photo server (MS SQL Server)and some from the Memphis Police Dept MS SQL Servers, and some queries from the webserver are subclassed instances of IE where a form is filled out, submitted and the returned page sent back to the user. It also uses a MS Word template to fill out the arrest ticket, which saves the officers lots of time per arrest.
Communication is done via Sierra Wireless Modem cards in the field and Linksys 802.11G wireless lan cards when the cars are within 300 feet of the sallyport of our downtown or "jail east" complex.

In early testing, I've had a couple of teams of officers who have made over 40 arrests in one week. My problem is I don't have a lot of time to devote to writing a white paper, but I've had nothing but positive feedback on the application.
