You really want to shy away from multiple checkouts. How will you manage the merging of changes? Also, the integration of VSS/VFP - while nice in that icons are in the PM - the PM is still single user. So, each developer would need his/her own copy. Unless developers are changing settings for servers and such - there is not real need to use the PM interface. Building apps/exes and the like can be done from code. If you are going to use VSS, my advice is to have your developers work with the VSS interface.
