According to http://www.logiccontrols.com/web/sd.htm, this display doesn't support the OPOS ActiveX controls, but the features site linked from there says that you _can_ use OPOS. You might want to look into this is more detail: I've found in the past that OPOS is easier to work with than sending commands to a COM port.
