Just a shoot in the dark. If the exe gets released from Win98 and not from WinXP, there is some setting, i guess, in the client installed in the Windows XP, that should free resources and/or locking. I know there is a zillion options in the WinXP client i saw lately, so good luck trying to find the right one :-)
