Actually that was very helpful. I have the grid working now, except I just realized that my "select ... into cursor temp" won't really work for what I'm trying to do because I am trying to allow the user to check which customer's he/she wants by clicking the checkbox control in the grid. The cursor I'm using is not updatable. Now as I understand it, in order to use a view which would be updatable, I would have to have a database open. The cust table that I'm selecting from is a free table from a clipper program. Any ideas on how I can get what I want short of sending the results of the sql statement to a temporary table that I create? -Rick
