I'd call it "the age of connectivity".

VFP 7 gave us a lot more flexibility with XML, an OLE DB provider, and improved interaction with back-end databases. VFP 8 improved upon that with CursorAdapters and the XML classes. Since VFP 7, we've also been able to play in the COM sandbox a bit more politely, and VFP 8 helps that along with event binding, collections, and structured error handling.

>I understand that the transition from Foxpro 2.x to Visual Foxpro represented a seismic shift in the platform as a whole. However I'm wondering if VFP entered another "mini-era" starting with version 7. I would call it "The Age of Intellisense" but I realize (without taking anything away from Intellisense) that this might short-change the scope of the newer versions. I also thought of "The Age of SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR" but that too sounded dorky.
