Agreed. Mark helped me write some PL/SQL a long time ago (threads are in the Oracle forum here) that do CRUD operations on Oracle tables. I didn't go that route because I never could get it to perform anywhere near as well as using SPT where the SQL is encapsulated in my data-tier code vs. in procedures. As Mark is quick to point out, it's really NBD once you've figured out the necessary code because you can generate the same procedures for as many tables as you like. It's a real kick in the teeth though when you go back and forth between PL/ and T-SQL and see how darned easy it is in one vs. the other.
I do use TOAD and have for so long now that it's very comfortable to me, warts and all (bad pun intended). I can certainly see where someone could build a better tool though, so hearing that PL/SQL Devloper is better is not surprising. I may have to check that out. Thanks.

>I have gotten rather heavily into Oracle myself over the past few months - and I have to agree with your assessment. Ever try to return a resultset??? Compared to T-SQL - it is a royal PITA!!
