http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~VFPMarketing~VFPThis is an interesting quote from the wiki topic you cite:
*************************************************************************
"I want to use SQL Server not VFP..."
Fine, SQL Server can be the data store for VFP. You still need a place to put your business and application logic. Nothing will process the data faster then VFP. (if they can understand the technical side, the COM overhead involved is using ADO could be discussed.)
*************************************************************************
Several problems..
First, business logic can, and often should be housed in SQL Server Stored Procedures. The statement above implies that biz logic cannot be stored in Sql Server...a complete falsehood.
Second, to say that *nothing* processes data faster than VFP is a complete falsehood as well. On the client, you have .NET and on the server, you have SQL Server - both at least as fast and perhaps faster than Fox....
Oh well...we are talking about the wiki here....< g >.. Far be it to let *facts* get in the way... ;)
