FWIW, my biggest client just installed NetWare 6.5. It comes with clustering out of the box, and let me tell you it rocks and spits fire like a daemon machine...
We installed a cluster of 3 servers, and one of them runs what Novell calls "Snapshot Backup" which is basically a snapshot of entire volume backed-up on a server.
Besides, when i entered the management software for Netware, i fill like a kid in a candy store: i just don't know where to click, given the zillion options and utilities you find there.
Last and not least, i just discovered MySql for Netware, and i am planning to test it with VFP in the next days.
I love Novell's technology, and as you know it is rock-solid for the last 10-15 years. My guess is they will never throw away such a good product, they will enrich it with tighter Linux integration.

As far as I've been told by Novell, Novell is ADDING Nterprise Linux Services to incorporate functionality between Netware and Linux but not ending Netware that I know of. That would be a huge surprise since Netware is still the only government C2 certified out-of-the-box network OS (2003 Server should be eventually since they changed the entire security schema to locked down by default instead of open by default like 2000 etc...).
