Hi mal,

I'm worrying about length of strings and fieldwidths that have to be changed, because of the double byte stuff. I'm afraid to encounter all kinds of problems/bugs that have to do with two bytes representing 1 character.

Walter,

Not sure what kind of problems you are expecting regarding double character sets. I never had a problem ... using VFP. The only problem, if you can call it that, is how the characters display. They seem smaller than what the points size is and you have to fiddle a little to make it look good.

>>Well, for a company I work for, we face the problem translating our product into asian languages. How are you going to deal double character sets ? Lots of stuff in our traditional systems is counting to single byte character and we are really affraid what comes up when we doublebyte.
