John,

>Nothing wrong with being an optimist - so long as one is not blinded from reality.

The question is, how can you identify the reality? We all are blind for the reality, because we are not able to see the TRUE reality. You have a total different view on reality than I have.

>iro "everything is fine" theories - I am not so familiar with this. I think most of us understand that VFP is a niche market player and that its a mature technology. Things come and things go. Its the natural course of events. No revelation there.

>You say VFP is a "niche market player". What is the market? And assuming a market can be identified, is it niche? And as far as "mature technology" is concerned, that is just a eupemism/positive spin for something else. You know...Cobol is a mature technology as well...

Several, but desktop database applications surely is one of them.

>So....what is your point..Indeed, in the tech world - 10 years is several lifetimes...

It surely is mature. That is what it says.
