>We are getting a C5 Fatal error in our POS app. We think we have narrowed the cause down to the Star Receipt printers. The model used by this particular client is the SP200/212. (They say SP200 on the side but on the bottom they say 212FC) The driver we are using is the Line Mode SP212 for Windows XP from Star. There is a cash drawer connected thru the printer.

In the old days the 'Windows only' style printers were often the cause of confusion. Since your app is a VFP8 one you would think that is not the case here; however, with all the OS versions and service pack releases from Microsoft and the tricky ways printer manufacturers write their interfaces (to provide more bells and whistles than just printing) you definitely have to be careful with the printer drivers these days. Triple check that you have the latest and it has been tested for the service pack you are on.

Also, if you have access to another printer type (even a full size line printer) hook it in for a test with your app to see if the error goes away. Just to isolate the problem to the printer.
