I can't recall who it was, but I read not too long ago that someone asked a well known entrepreneur how it was that he became such a success and his response was along the lines of "Because the first 20 ideas I tried failed." I expect that very few truly successful people got it right the first time.

Indeed. In a design effort, it often takes at least 4 iterations to BEGIN to get it right.
