customers may not know what's under the hood. Some in my little user base think the fox icon is something I did on purpose to make the "shortcut" look cool. Say foxpro to them, and they think its a suburb off HWY 59!

Ohh - you were referring to the humans who buy MSDN, and not the gorillas that use my lettle applications?:-) I too hold them in special reverence. I wish we could all hold hands and commiserate their (the humans on the MSDN) very existence. I am not worthy<g>
your vertical appIt's not "a" vertical app, but actually fixed incomes (accounting and expert solutions) and energy (carbon measurement, emissions and cartage indexation). Although the markets (finance vs energy) seem desperate, the underlying math is similar. Derivatives! The methods assessing the value of a quantity of carbon are somewhat similar to methods assessing the value of an investment.
But, I do not confine myself to just them little niches. I [aim to] work the broad market of those prospects, having the necessary disposable capital, with an eye to purchase a simple solution to a complex requirement. Ya just can't put a dollar sign on quality - there's a big difference between sounding smart and delivering the goods:-)
I get to do a lot of different, wild and crazy stuff (I done some wild projects in 2003) - I quit doing variations on a browse window - well I never did that kind of stuff [anyway], but if I did - it would have been a long time ago. Gosh, was that as good for you as it was for me?:-)
