Hi:
Sorry not a Fox problem, just clutching at straws. Whilst performing a routine disk to disk copy using Norton Ghost, a "write error" occured on the target drive (the main backup for this machine
). When I tried to re-boot the machine in the usual way (Win2000), I was presented with the following message :-
The Logon User Interface DLL c:\winnt\system32\awgina.dll failed to load.
I am completely locked out of Win2000 in this case. I checked the MS/Symantec KB's and it suggests that copying MSGINA.DLL to AWGINA.DLL should do the trick. It doesn't so I can only assume a registry screw-up.
After lots of messing with this, it seems that un-installing PCAW might help but, I cannot get into Win2000 to do this. Going in via safe mode gives the same problem too. I can access the drive because a copy of Win98 is now on the disk (all FAT32). Is there any tool available that can let me access the Win2000 registry from Win98 ?
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
