A suggested reading: “The Jungle”, Upton Saint Clair. If you are still able to eat beef after reading this I will be surprised! The story goes that then President Theodore Roosevelt was reading the book "The Jungle" one Sunday morning, while standing up in the Oval Office. In his other hand he had a plate of sausage and eggs for his breakfast. When he got to the part about how sausage was made he threw his plate into a closed window and broke the window. After this episode the Pure Food and Drug Act was passed.

How about the e. coli problem from “Jack in the Box” 1993? To this day I will not go near a Jack in the Box. I dislike seeing television commercials from that company. Interesting coincidence that this occurred in Washington state. Does this mean do not eat beef from Washington state?

People that are concerned for the health and well-being of others are looked upon by many with more than suspicion. You see it is all about the big bucks. To suggest anything that may detract from profits is anti American.

I think little will change except some positive media hype. All is well. As long as the bastards feel that profit is the primary motivation the big boys will take a chance. After all, how many will get caught breaking the law? Even if someone is caught what will happen? They will just contribute more to each of the republican and democratic parties to remain in good standing.

If you do not get caught you are not guilty. If you are caught no body cares except some bleeding hearts in places like Berkeley, California.

But why worry? It takes about five years for the mad cow disease to eat your brain. You go insane first.

I have faith in the system.
