I'm only a first-year MSDN holder and I don't expect to be surveyed. And I do believe that MS does do surveys (well, the sub-contractor for MS < s >).

But, surveys or not, they really are just a mechanism to give MS management some "cover" for decisions they might make.
Why would they assume that people responding to a survey do so honestly? Seems to me a GREAT chance that someone would want to make themselves sound more 'with it' by embellishing things a tad (or more).

The real purpose of MSDN is to get MS tools in the hands of developers at as low a cost as is APPARENTLY justifiable.
That MS would even care WHICH TOOLS are used is really hard to fathom, but for the case that one group at MS wants some justifiction for crapping on some other unit at MS.

I understand that MS puts some faith in these surveys. I hope it is very little!

cheers
