There are several ways to load a program automatically: several parts of the registry, system.ini (or was it win.ini? or both?), Startup folder. It gets quite complicated. Some downloads exist which can detect all of these methods. Search in
www.download.com; I think one option was called "startup cop".
Another option: Use Opera. But you should still worry about programs starting themselves.
