I currently have licences for 15 users but have up to 25 potential users of the database applications I have developed. By way of background the existing server traffic is fairly light with the exception of the VFP6 database applications which I intend to move to NAS. Existing servier drives are SCSI.

Hi Colin,

We typically use NAS for storing less frequently used files where space, rather than performance, is the predominant concern. Our Fox data remains on the servers for performance and security reasons.

We are running Netware though so you may find that locating your Fox data on a NAS to be fine for this application. If you have existing hardware, it may be worthwhile to look at Linux/Samba combo to host the files.

Good luck,

Jason

Single field, surrogate primary keys....because it's sexier!

Third normal form is more than just a good idea.
