If the app in question was based on MM class libraries, there should be a folder called 'MMortals'. Within this folder will be a folder called 'Common30' and within this is a folder called 'Libs'. This is where the majority (if not all) base classes reside.

The previous developer might not have left a copy of these files at your client site, in which case, you will not be able to modify and re-build the app. You would then need to purchase the framework (but you would need to know the version).
