Dale;

I like Montana and he is a great quarterback. I also wished that Montana had lead the Chief's to a Super Bowl win. I hate to see teams get rid of great players. The 49ers have so many problems starting with the "owners".

When Steve Young took over, he seemed to not understand Jerry Rice was on the field.

How many games did Montana win for the 49ers in the last minute thirty seconds, by coming from behind? He was a thrilling player to watch and very cool headed.

Tom

>Some of my favorite games have been watching the 49ers with Joe Montana as quarterback, and later as a chief. We had high hopes he would take us to the Super Bowl. :(

>>During Super Box I I was stationed at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base (Grandview, Missouri). The game was played in Los Angeles, where it was 104 that day. There was a player (an end?), who was also sports newscaster for a local KC TV station. I remember he called the station to report on the game and complained, “It is cold in Los Angeles! It is cold in Los Angeles!” Man it was –15 degrees that morning in Grandview. I never understood why he reported it being “cold in Los Angeles”!

>>If there is an I-70 Super Bowl, I will be for the Chiefs. The Rams are not appreciated by 49er fans regardless of where they reside! :)
