Hello Perry
>>It's interesting to me to me the history of someone from a development company and compare it to my own history, someone involved in corporate development.
Absolutely. You will agree that neither you nor I would try to apply our own anecdote as a blanket of advice for everybody else's situation; our anecdote forms a tiny part of the host of cues, experience and learning that competent IT practitioners rely on to make their own decisions in the absence of scientific method.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
