I think that first I'll try installing VFP 8 Service Pack 1 as I know that similar problems in various Windows platforms have been fixed with service packs. Hopefully, that'll sort it out, otherwise, I guess I'll have to go driver hunting.

>Mark, I do not know if its related but since you appear to be stuck its a "fwiw": I had this same(?) recurring issue once on a laptop. It only happened when I ran my VFP app (I think possibly with PHDbase). However, I tracked it down to a driver for a pcmcia card ISDN modem that I had installed. Removing the driver the problem went away. As I said, the weird thing was that it only happened when a VFP app was running. I suspect it had something to do with VFP trying to use as much available memory as possible by default? HTH.
