While I haven't bothered to go back and double-check, it seems to me that you have twisted the original to a VERY specific case.

I recollect the ORIGINAL to be regarding converting a LAN application to C/S to get more speed. Most have responded that C/S is *NOT* the way to address speed issues of this nature, and I believe them to be correct.

In the case of remote dial-in connections you are talking something very different and there are probably a few ways to skin that cat.
