Hello Colin

Starts around $1700, get on Dells email list and they send you 'coupons' good for 5-15% off on a regular basis. Thats with 4 x 40 Gig / 384M
Also has dual 10/100/1000 NICS with load balance and failover!!

Mine was around $2500 with 4 x 120 Gig / 512M but I reccommend more memory, but you can get that at crucial.com much cheaper.

I have not used it for apps, but it is a real 2000Server so should perform like the boxed OS once you tweak a few settings to give priority to Apps.

I can't believe more people don't know about this, MS is aggressive in the NAS space to take market share from Linux/Unix. Since it's basically a 1U X86 compatible box you can add more memory, faster processor, SCSI just like any other box. Its nice not to have to deal with licensing!

Hope I don't get myself in trouble with MS :)

Bob
