>Thanks, however is there a way that will allow me to zip files without buying third party package? I am looking for something that I can write in VFP?No. Unless you want to delve into very low level code to reinvent the wheel and code your own Lempel-Ziv - Huffman algorithms and the like.
What's wrong with using a field-proven, commercial DLL or ActiveX? That is the way to go IMO. I use DynaZIP and am very happy with it.
There are other competing products out there, some of them free.

860084You can also run WinZIP from VFP. Or even PKZip in a DOS Window. It will be ugly but it will get you there.
