The good news is, I'm glad to hear that it is doable :)
The bad news is, I'm not sure that it is easy for me :(

I'm wondering if VFP9 will have a more "modern" menu and save me the trouble of learning the ActiveX control that you are talking about.

Did you have to figure it ("tunnel and bubble events") out on your own or does the product documentation/help explain how to use it? I know nothing about MFC's command handlers!


>Yes it can be duplicated, we did this by creating a message driven framework that allows the toolbars, menu's and other UI elements to be decoupled. For example, when a form becomes active it broadcasts a message with information describing the base operations it supports enabling the toolbar/manager to take the appropriate action. We are also able to tunnel and bubble events through the hierarchy in a similiar way to MFC's command handlers.
