I just got one of the MS wireless routers hooked up to an also new dsl modem. I've been using the HOSTS file to thwart spammers from seeing url requests that identify the fact that I opened the email and one of the issues is that the domains contain random or name based components ie
127.0.0.1
www.b.com.rkbsom.net.bzgalore.art.br 127.0.0.1
www.comym.com.xgeth.net.have-what-u-want.art.brthat make the hosts file more unmanageable. But the router comes to the rescue. By using the parental controls I can setup a web filter for
.art.br
and any request that contains .art.br in the url gets zapped right by the router. But when it does this that page component or whole page comes back as a "403 (Forbidden) You are not authorized to view this page"
What I'd really like to do is put my own custom page in for 403 to remind me that it might be a router blocked url, in case I get over aggressive in my desires to keep junk out of my way. I don't have IIS running, just XPPro.
Can it be done?
