Hi Chris.

This was just before the infamous 9/11. It went in our luggage without much of a problem. The bigger problem was the spear we brought back. This was a souvenir store item, not quite as authentic as the knife. Our Masai guide tried to teach my son how to use it, along with the knife. They use them both on lion hunts. It was so long I could barely get it to fit, all wrapped up, in an extra long duffle bag we brought. No questions, though. Went through airport security & claims just fine.

One thing I regret was that I had traded a Visual Foxpro Devcon T shirt to one of the tribesmen for some beads, but he would not let me take a picture of him wearing it. They can be very sensitive about this. I gave him a choice of my T shirts and he chose the Tie Dyed one from a few years back. Those of you from the US might remember which Devcon it was. I can't at the moment. He wore it for me. I would have loved to have taken a picture of this guy, wearing the shirt and posing with a spear, to Microsoft. Ken would have gotten a kick out of it. But, alas, he refused to let me take the picture.

Regards,

The impossible we do immediately.
The miraculous will take a little longer.
