Also, I would like to add that the compliled EXE or DLL can have the Config.fpw embedded inside the EXE or DLL. This is usally the first place it looks when loading the executable. I know this was available in 7.0, and enhanced in 8.0, but I am not sure about 6.0.

This has been true since 2.x <s>.

Also, there are some other runtime switches and environmental variables that can have an effect on where the CONFIG.FPW is found -- I think they actually may still work, if used.

FOXPROWCFG was one. and there was another one ending in SW that could be used to globally specify multiple commandline switches (including -C).

I'd just do a SET to check if in a situation where I couldn't figure out where the settings are coming from and it was an old installation <g>.
