Jordan - it is possible to monitor any and all network traffic between a client workstation and a network server - but you'll be utilizing a network traffic monitor or sniffer application. I've seen some strange logs where the pathing was not set up properly and the VFP app was generating tons of file locate OS requests, and then I was able to do some optimization on the app and reduce the network traffic.

Take a look at some network traffic monitoring and sniffer tools, and set up your favorite VFP app and try a day or two of monitoring. One caveat ? 'a given transaction' will vary in 'network packets sent', but you should be able to monitor for some time and come up with statistics and start computing averages..
