That's not entirely true. You need to install (or distribute) the SQLDMO and the SQLNamespace libraries. That doesn't mean you need the entire set of client tools. Installing the client tools
on your development box (not on your client's machines) is the most efficient way of a developer getting those libraries on their machine. For client machines, you just need to distribute SQLDMO.DLL, SQLNS.DLL and (I think -- I'm not in front of my development box at the moment) SQLNS.RLL. The first two need to be registered with REGSVR32.
