What...you just now got around to watching Office Space??? I'm on viewing #556!!! <bg>

Yeah, I noticed the dBase box. Hidden behind it is a copy of Sidekick and MultiMate. The couldn't use Fox because the packaging was a boring white.

It's ironic that the funniest parts of the movie are also the saddest...like the first 10 minutes when Peter (the hero, or maybe 'anti-hero') is politely scolded by everyone but the janitor because he forgot to include a cover sheet on his TPS report.

Speaking of Fox (actually, its usage)...a not-so-funny aspect of the movie (the Y2K issue) is that someone told me that at least 1 in 4 legacy Fox apps had to be heavily patched in 1999, because dates were stored as character fields. I even saw a system that stored ship, invoice, and order dates as a SUBSTRING inside a huge 200 character string that stored other key fields. All lookups were done as a LOCATE. A weapon in the hands of a fool...
