Pressumably, the reasoning was that to expand the database, it had to be expanded, in order to get the list of tables, etc.

The real problem, and a frequent source of confusion, is that it is not possible to close the database from outside the Project Manager.

BTW, I forgot to mention that in VFP 6 or later, it is possible to automate the management of projects, through project hooks.
