I lied. The DCT file is in the data dirctory also. Several times I have run VALIDATE DATABASE RECOVER in the data dirctory and just get the message that the index has be sucessfully rebuilt. As a test I created another program in another folder to open and browse one of the tables in the data directory using the SET PATH statement and it works fine. Arghh! It's just ignoring it in my application.
