I opened an incident with MS Foxpro Support. We worked on it for four days. Counldn't find any specific cause of the problem other than something related to mscomctl.ocx. We did replace the mscomctl.ocx. It did not resolve the problem.

As a last resort I uninstalled VFP8 and reinstalled Windows XP Pro (Not a pleasant experience). Reinstalled VFP8. Problem was resolved.
